Max built a robot for his school project. It was made from boxes, bottle tops and a lot of tape. It had flashing lights for eyes and a big red button on its chest.
When Max pressed the button, the robot beeped and rolled forward. Beep, beep! Hello! it said, in a funny voice.
On Sunday, Max took the robot to Granny's house. Granny loved her garden more than anything. She was out planting flowers in the sunshine.
Watch this, Granny! said Max. He pressed the button. The robot rolled across the grass, beeping happily, and went straight into a flower bed!
Max went red. Oh no, Granny, I'm so sorry! But Granny was laughing. That robot just dug a hole for my next flower, she said. Maybe it can help me garden!
So Max and Granny spent the whole afternoon planting flowers together, with the robot beeping beside them. It was the best project Max had ever made.
