Tips that help every child
- Little and often. Ten relaxed minutes a day beats one long session.
- Routines. The same time and place for homework helps children settle.
- Move first. A snack and a run around before homework helps the brain get ready.
- Strengths first. Notice and name what your child does well.
- Work with the school. Share what works at home with your child's teacher.

How the curriculum links work
Ireland's Primary Mathematics Curriculum (2023) and Primary Language Curriculum (2019) set learning outcomes for two-year stages. 3rd and 4th Class share Stage 3. Each topic shows the curriculum strand unit it practises. The "4th Class focus" is our own choice of level for 4th Class, not an official requirement.
These are everyday ideas, not a diagnosis or medical advice. If you have questions about your child, their teacher or GP is a great place to start.
